Arrhythmia Surgery

This procedure destroys an arrhythmia’s focus by either freezing, heating or removing the abnormal tissue during heart surgery. This procedure is rare as it is employed only when catheter ablation and/or implantable devices are not considered the best treatment options or when the patient already needs open-heart surgery for unrelated reasons.
